Holster Color

I have been asked why the pictures in the gallery show so many color variations but the order form does not give all of the color options that you see. The standard color’s that are available are Black, Mahogany and Natural(Tan). I do not dye holsters any other color unless you request it, then it would be an additional charge. As for the pictures, there are several reasons that the color can vary: First. The lighting the picture was taken in can distort the color some. Second. Every piece of leather takes...

Sewing Your Holster (standard option)

Sewing Your Holster (standard option)

Your holster will be sewn with The Cobra Class 4. It is now a year later and I have used this the Tippmann so much that I have had to retire it to the backup machine. It just can not keep up any more. The new machine (pictured below) gives me better control of the stitching and is built for the amount of orders that American Holster Company has grown into. Be assured I may make changes in the shop but the only effect you will notice in the quality of our products will be for the...

Why Right is Wrong

Why Right is Wrong

In this video we will discuss why some times something that may seem right for you is not the best idea. When it comes to holsters it is up to the designer to know what is safe and what is not. I mention in this video that if you insist that you need a holster that I deem unsafe you will have to sign a waver and pay an additional fee.  At the time of recording the video I could not imagine someone would still want this style holster. There is no waiver and I will not make a holster that I deem unsafe!!!! Your...

Will the Invi-Tuck work for a big guy?

Question: I’m a big guy, so chaffing is a concern, I would like to have the larger Back Plate. I see in step 9 of how to make the holster that you seal it for moisture. I live in a very humid area during the summer and have had luck with horsehide. Do you offer horsehide or do you believe your moisture sealing is sufficient? I do know that the horsehide has been very comfortable for me. Answer: I will happily make the holster with a larger back plate. I do not currently offer Horse Hide.  I can not find a...

Choosing the right holster

Choosing the right holster

Choosing the correct holster has been written about by so many but I would like to approach the subject from the prospective of John Q Public (me before I started making concealed carry holsters). A little background about myself first. I was brought up around guns all my life. My father taught us from an early age to have a great respect / fear (yes they are the same) for firearms. I started out hunting and target shooting. After moving out on my own I started shooting Ipsic with my Dad as something that we could...
